For two decades, Burns Century has been an independent design consultant, weaving dreams and ideas into reality for her clients.
Burns Century is a nationally-published interior designer in Atlanta renown for her spatial vision, unique composition of materials and transformations into inspiring experiences. Her passion is creating holistically-designed, soulful and meaningful spaces, products and art that speaks to the individual and makes a difference in the lives of those who experience them.
In 1996 her namesake studio, Burns Century Interior Design, was established specializing in custom interior spaces with the philosophy that everyone has a different journey through life; everyone has different stories to tell; everyone is individually different. So then is every space created by Burns Century.
She translates your story, your inspirations, and your needs from ideas into meaningful spaces. Listening. Observing. Guiding you down the right paths. Exploring all the details. Culminating in spaces which are original reflections of your personality, your interests, or your image or brand.
"Being an independent design consultant allows me to find and collaborate with the right people for each client's project. On any given day I am collaborating with other designers, artists, architects, installers, vendors, showrooms, artisan craftsman, contractors, and manufacturers to achieve the overall design vision for my client. As an independent designer, I represent my clients best interest and use a truly design-driven, integrated interior installation approach to take my client from design to procurement of products and interior installations to realize the design.
While in my studio, I enjoy designing one-of-a-kind custom products and mixed-media fine art for a particular client or production pieces for a manufacturer. My art evolves from something I experience, usually something I'm reading, a passage or an interior I am designing. Opening my mind each day starts with meditation, prayer and viewing some business or trade publication - then I'm off designing something fabulous for someone."
